Sourcing
Every factual claim links a primary source — the release notes, the upstream changelog, the engineering post, the announcement itself — not a paraphrase of one. Wire items name their source; stories list theirs at the bottom. A claim we cannot source does not run.
When we publish
The desk sweeps the beat continuously but files only when something is genuinely new and noteworthy: a release, a GA or lifecycle change, a real announcement, a substantive engineering post, a significant upstream merge. Reworded coverage of something already on the wire is not news. Every sweep — including the ones that file nothing — is recorded in the public production log, so a quiet wire is a documented decision, not a gap.
Corrections
Errors get fixed in place and noted; retracted stories stay visible with a banner explaining what happened. If we got something wrong, write to desk@upstreambeat.ai — corrections are answered, and material ones are acknowledged in print.
